A little about Me…
First, a fun fact: I believe I am the only Mano Marks on the internet. I have never encountered another.
OK, now for why you’re here.
Professionally I’m a developer relations manager at Google. For 9 years I was a developer advocate for Google, mostly for Maps and Earth. For another 3 years I led developer relations at Docker. In 2019, I came back to Google to lead a team of developer advocates in Google Cloud. Then in 2022 I switched over to a role in Internal Developer Relations, using a DevRel approach to helping Googler software engineers be more production.
I’ve given hundreds of talks in my life, and many many videos. Now, I’m happy as a manager. I take a mostly non-public role helping my team advocate for developers internally at Google. Since 2006 I have been able to work with some of the smartest people I’ve ever known. We weren’t always at the same companies, but we were on the same team. We work to help developers build their applications, and their careers.
My current interest is in building effective developer relations teams at scale that allow for individual expression, career growth, and efficient processes that are frameworks for repeatable success.
My blog posts are mostly historical, though I always intend to get back to writing some day. Mostly my posts are about developer relations as a profession.
I have a much older blogspot, Random Markers, which I leave up for historical purposes.
